Bituminous installation method is used over compacted gravel, bituminous or concrete sub-bases in applications where stability is critical. Sub-grade must be stabilized to prevent settling. Bituminous setting beds thicker than 3/4” should be applied in multiple layers, each layer not to exceed 3/4” and can be rolled in with 12” pavers or smaller only. Tackcoat should be installed per mfg’s recommendations to assure proper bonding and prevent water infiltration. Joints space 1/16” to 1/8”
